Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 30, 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
The Ancient Gods Codex (the “Service”) is operated by Northern Gate Publishing (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. What the Service does
The Service is an AI-assisted study companion to the book Ancient Gods: Were They Real?. It provides chapter Q&A, a glossary, a convergence map, and an argument builder. AI outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate; verify anything important against primary sources.
3. Accounts and acceptable use
You must be of legal age to contract in your jurisdiction and you are responsible for activity on your account, including keeping your credentials confidential and providing accurate information. You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully or to infringe anyone’s rights;
- upload or generate fraudulent, abusive, harassing, or illegal content;
- probe, scan, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the Service’s security or availability;
- attempt to jailbreak, reverse engineer, or extract underlying models or training data;
- resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service or its outputs as a competing service.
4. AI outputs and accuracy
Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date and are provided for general educational and study purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, financial, or religious advice. We may moderate, filter, restrict, or remove outputs at our discretion.
5. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, its software, content, and branding. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for personal study. The book Ancient Gods: Were They Real? remains the property of its author. If you believe content in the Service infringes your rights, contact us at support@ancientgodscodex.com; we may remove content and terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
6. Payments, billing, and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries related to payments and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
7. Service availability
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features without notice.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for: material breach of these Terms, non-payment, fraud or security risk, abuse of the Service or other users, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account from the Account page.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law forbids such limitation.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the seller’s jurisdiction. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
