Who we are
The Ancient Gods Codex is operated by Northern Gate Publishing. For data-protection purposes, Northern Gate Publishing acts as the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.
What we collect and why
- Account data (email, password hash, sign-in identifier) — to create and authenticate your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Usage data (chapter views, chat questions and answers, feature interactions, device and browser identifiers, IP address) — to provide and improve the Service, protect against abuse, and debug errors. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages you send us — to respond to your request. Legal basis: legitimate interests / performance of a contract.
- Order data related to your purchase (e.g. plan, status) — to provide entitlement. Payment instrument details (card numbers, billing address) are collected and stored by Paddle, not by us.
Who we share data with
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record. Paddle processes payments, manages subscriptions and refunds, calculates and remits taxes, and issues invoices. See paddle.com/legal/privacy.
- Hosting and backend — Lovable Cloud (database, authentication, file hosting) hosts the Service infrastructure.
- AI model providers (via the Lovable AI Gateway) — process your chat prompts to generate responses. Prompts are not used to train third-party models without our instruction.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law or to enforce our rights.
Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not place advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser.
How long we keep data
Account and usage data are retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after to handle support, refunds, and legal obligations. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which erases your profile and chat history. Payment records held by Paddle are retained according to Paddle’s policy and applicable tax law.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular updates. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, email support@ancientgodscodex.com. We will respond within one month.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

We may update this notice; the “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent change.
